Lawyers in Lahore have set fire to a shade in front of the Punjab Assemby in a protest against the government over a demand for the arrest of Daska police station SHO spector Shahzad Warraich, who is being held responsible by them for the deaths of two lawyers in the area yesterday.
According to the Dawn, police have put up a blockade inside the Punjab Assembly complex to prevent the lawyers from entering the building.
A senior police official said that policemen guarding the building are unarmed and advised against the hearing of any cases in the city today.
The law and order situation in Lahore is said to be tense and deteriorating with the lawyers intensifying their protests.
The two office-bearers of the Daska Bar Association were allegedly murdered yesterday.
