Karachi Kings' 21-year-old leg-spinner Usama Mir has insisted that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the best platform for youngsters who aspire to play cricket at international level.
Mir's comments came after producing yet another spectacular performance during Kings' 44-run win over Islamabad United in their play-off clash.
Describing PSL as a 'shortcut' for aspiring cricketers to earn a spot in the national team, Mir believes this year's PSL could be a major turning point for his career, the Dawn reported.
"Our captain told us to give 100 per cent without worrying about the result," Mir said while adding that he is looking forward to perform at his menacing best in the upcoming matches.
During his side's win on Wednesday, the leg-spinner scalped the crucial wickets of Shadab Khan, Asif Ali and Muhammad Sami as the Kings defended a modest target of 127 runs against Islamabad United.
Mir also gained attention in a match against Peshawar Zalmi in which he took Shahid Afridi's wicket to turn the entire match in his team's favour and eventually helping them to come out victorious by nine runs.
