Pun files nomination for Nepal VP election

Nepal's Vice President Nanda Bahaur Pun on Saturday filed his nomination to serve a second consecutive term in office.

According to a Kathmandu Post report, Pun's name for the post of Vice President was proposed by CPN-UML leaders Subash Nembang, Pampha Bhusal, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, Rekha Sharma and Parshuram Gurung.

It was seconded by CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Dev Gurung, Onsari Gharti Magar, Ram Narayan Bidari, Jayapuri Gharti and Rajendra Prasad Gautam.

The Election Commission (EC) had earlier announced that nominations could be filed between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
