Qatar to hold tournament for migrants to deflate 'exploitation' accusations

Qatar is reportedly holding a competition just for the migrant workers, which have been employed by the nation to build facilities for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to deflate accusations that the foreign workers are being exploited there.

Qatar has been reportedly criticised for the dire conditions of the migrants and the manager of a public relations firm in Qatar said that this tournament is aimed at subduing the accusations that Doha is mistreating them.

According to the Gulf News, Nasser Kuwari, the public relations firm manager, said that they care about the workers because these migrants are the ones who are building the stadiums and facilities.

A Labour union firm named Amnesty International reported that the migrants were being treated like 'animals', while another report by the International Trade Union Confederation said as many as 4,000 workers might die on building sites before the tournament kicks off.

However, Qatar dismissed that report as full of 'factual errors' and now they have planned a tournament especially for the migrants to show that they care for them, the report added.
