Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that in order for Parliament to function, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj should let the country know how much money has been credited into her account by former IPL chief Lalit Modi.

"Please explain to the country and the people of India, how much money has been credited to you and your family's bank account by Mr. Lalit Modi? Tell it straight, the House will function," said Rahul Gandhi.

"We also agree that the parliament must function, but we have raised a basic issue. We've said that, Sushma Swaraj ji, the Rajasthan Chief Minister and the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister have carried out, in some cases, illegal acts," he added.

The Congress scion also launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the latter has not commented on the murders happening in Madhya Pradesh.

"In Madhya Pradesh, there are murders happening and our Prime Minister does not feel it necessary to comment on them. He praises the Chief Ministers, he completely ignores the fact that the future of thousands of people in Madhya Pradesh has been destroyed by his Chief Minister," said Rahul.

"He completely ignores the fact that there is a business relationship between a criminal and the Chief Minister of Rajasthan," he added.
