Rajendra Kumar on Monday took charge as the Principal Secretary (Services) of the Government of Delhi, replacing Anindo Majumdar.
Earlier in the day, Majumdar, who had cleared the appointment of acting Delhi Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin, was barred from entering his office at the Delhi Secretariat.
Meanwhile, Delhi Government sources said the transfer and posting of officers under the Union Territory cadre and their work allocation comes under the jurisdiction of the government, and added that Majumdar had bypassed the council of ministers, and hence, had been relieved of his services.
The sources further stated the Delhi Government has not received any communication from the Lieutenant Governor on the matter officially.
