Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh on Thursday lashed out at the Congress-led UPA Government as the rupee breached the 60 level versus the US dollar, an all-time low for the currency.
He said that continuously increasing current account deficit and fiscal deficit are worrisome, as jobs are not being created.
"Since the formation of this government, the country's economy has been in shambles. The fiscal deficit is continuously increasing, the current account deficit is continuously increasing and now it seems like it is going out of control. The manner in which the value of rupee has fallen before the US dollar, never in the history of independent India, the value of rupee fallen so sharply," he told the media here.
The Indian rupee yesterday sank to an all-time low of 60.66 in trade with the American dollar on the inter-bank foreign exchange market sending panic waves in the currency market.
