Jailed football star Ched Evans' girlfriend has vowed to help get his rape conviction quashed.

Natasha Massey has stood beside Evans after he was jailed for raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel room.

According to the Daily Star, the former Sheffield United and Wales striker was sentenced to five years after a jury found him guilty in April 2012.

But Natasha is fighting along with Evans' mother Helen and his sisters Kylie and Nicola in a legal campaign to overturn the verdict.

Their bid will soon be submitted to the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

Last night Natasha opened her heart about why she has stuck with him.

She said it was hard to deal with the fact that his boyfriend had cheated, but she know Ched is an honest and lovable character and the rape charge was not right.

Natasha believes the conviction was a miscarriage of justice and thinks there is a strong case to have it overturned, the report added.
