RBI to soon issue Rs. 20, Rs. 50 new notes

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon issue new Rs. 20 and Rs. 50 notes and all old notes issued by it will continue to be legal tender.

In a statement, the RBI has said that the 50 rupees bank notes will be without inset letter in both the number panels and bear signature of RBI Governor Dr Urjit Patel.

Rs. 20 note will be with inset letter 'L' in both number panels and bear signature of the RBI Governor.

The year 2016 will be printed on the reverse of both the notes.
