Real Madrid have lashed out at Manchester United over goalkeeper David de Gea's transfer deal to the Spanish club failing to take off , saying that the United have sent the documents after the transfer deadline had passed.
According to the Guardian, Real said United took about eight hours to return De Gea's documents with changes that were insignificant.
The Spanish club also said that United did not open any channel of negotiation for De Gea.
United, however, said that Real controlling the documentation processes of De Gea and Keylor Navas in the last several hours of the process, and added that United were holding only their players' documents.
United further blamed Real for returning the documents without the signatory page.
Earlier, De Gea, who joined United from Real's city rivals Atletico Madrid in 2011, refused to sign a new deal with United due to his desire to return to Spain with Real.
The 28-year-old was also awarded with club's player of the year for the past two seasons.
