Real to test Man U's resolve to bag Bale by demanding De Gea in part-exchange

Manchester United's resolve to land Welsh wizard Gareth Bale would reportedly be tested by Real Madrid by demanding their ace goalkeeper David De Gea in part-exchange.

United have reportedly put up a 100 million pounds bid for Bale after losing out to Real in the race to sign the winger in the summer of 2013, and now the Spanish giants are ready to hand an ultimatum to Louis van Gaal's side by telling them that the price including De Gea would be the deal-maker.

Real have identified the Spanish goalkeeper to replace long-serving veteran Iker Casillas, as the United stopper is in the process of taking over from Casillas as Spain's No 1. and it is a matter of pride at the Bernabeu that the top Spanish keeper plays for Real, the Mirror reported.

United do not want to part with arguably the best stopper in the Premier League in the three-and-a-half seasons since he arrived from Atletico Madrid for 18 million dollars.

But there is growing concern at Old Trafford about the failure to secure De Gea on a new contract as he approaches the final 18 months of his current deal.

If United is unable to persuade De Gea to commit himself to a new long-term deal in the coming months, they would be faced with the prospect of losing him for nothing in the summer of 2016, the report added.
