The mother of murdered South African model Reeva Steenkamp had reportedly 'fled' the North Gauteng High Court after her daughter's murderer, Paralympian Oscar Pistorius, finally looked her in the eye.
June Steenkamp had returned to the courtroom for the first time since she expressed her disappointment on the trial's opening day that Pistorius would not even acknowledge her presence.
According to news.com.au, Pistorius nodded at June Steenkamp before his sister Aimee went over to greet Steenkamp's family, before June was forced to leave the trial as the graphic images, showing Pistorius smeared in her daughter's blood, were displayed in the court.
Photographs taken at the crime scene showed unexplained scuff marks on Pistorius' bloodied prosthetic limbs, a box with a label that said "Testis compositum'- a 'sexual enhancer' that contains the testicles, heart and embryo of pigs- along with syringe and needles, the report added.
