Two researchers have reportedly claimed that they have found the proof of God's existence by using their Apple MacBook, some mathematical calculation and an early 20th century theorem.

The theorem belongs originally to Anselm of Canterbury and was taken on by Austrian mathematician Kurt Godel states that God by definition is that for which no greater can be conceived. God exists in the understanding and if He exists in the understanding, we could imagine Him to be greater by existing in reality. Therefore, God must exist.

According to Cnet, Christoph Benzmuller of Berlin's Free University and Bruno Woltzenlogel Paleo of the Technical University in Vienna used their MacBook and tried to express the theorems into mathematical equations and make them work.

Their work called 'Formalization, Mechanization and Automation of Godel's Proof of God's Existence' state that his ontological proof of God has been analysed for the first time with an unprecedented degree of detail and formality with the help of higher-order theorem proves.

The researchers appear to have used the TPTP THF syntax and verified the consistency of axioms and definitions with Nitpick, demonstrated them with LEO-II and Satallax and formalized them using the Coq proof assistant and Isabelle proof assistant, automated with Sledgehammer and Metis.

Benzmuller explained that their work opens vast horizons for studying proof of God's existence, as they dealt with just six axioms in a little theorem, the report added.
