Chinese tennis star Li Na reportedly ruled out a return to the sport on Sunday despite retiring just months after winning her second Grand Slam title.

Na, just one month after her shock retirement, said that she was now busy making up for lost time with her family. She said that of course she is not going to come back to tennis.

Na said ahead of the WTA finals that she is already 32, and at the beginning of next year she is going to turn 33. She said that she thinks she has to take care of her family right now because she has lost 32 years, Sport24 reported.

Na had been set to headline the WTA Finals, being played in Singapore for the first time, before she retired citing injuries in September. Her decision came just months after she won the Australian Open in January and reached a career-high ranking of world number two.

But Na, a trailblazer who has vastly raised the profile of tennis in Asia, said that she was now thoroughly enjoying her new life away from the pressures of elite sport. She said that she could have seven days off now, adding that when the Chinese national day came she could just stay at home.

The Chinese tennis ace said that she does not have to worry about the schedule, adding that she used to wake up worrying about that. She said that it is pretty nice.

Na said that she is pretty happy to be in Singapore, adding that she is not training, playing any matches, but just coming here to see old friends. She said that she is going to be like a fan, just watching some matches.
