Retiring South African Test all-rounder Jacques Kallis has reportedly not been included in the preliminary 30-man squad for the ICC World Twenty20 tournament to be played in Bangladesh in March and April next year.
Kallis announced that he would retire from Test cricket at the end of the current Test against India but is available to play for South Africa in limited overs cricket, especially his country's 50-overs World Cup campaign in Australia and New Zealand in 2015.
Sport24 reports that a Cricket South Africa spokesman said there was nothing to be read into Kallis' non-selection for the T20 squad, saying that Kallis has not been part of the T20 squad for some time and has made it clear he wants to earn selection for the 50-overs World Cup.
The report mentioned that Kallis has not played for South Africa in a T20 international since the 2012 World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka, although he has been a leading player in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
