Richard Gere and his wife Carey Lowell have separated after 11 years of marriage and are planning to file for divorce, according to reports.
The 64-year-old actor and Lowell haven't been seen together since a Hamptons screening of his thriller film 'Arbitrage' last year, the New York Post reported.
One source close to the couple said that Gere and Lowell, who stareed in the James Bond flick 'License to Kill' have been spending time apart for quite some time.
Another source said that the couple have drifted into different lifestyles, as the Gere craves privacy and Lowell likes socializing with other bigwigs.
The insider said that the couple have a place in Bedford [NY], and Gere likes staying there because it's quiet and he likes the solitude but Lowell likes being in North Haven in the limelight.
