Rihanna and former beau Chris Brown, who had violently assaulted her in 2009, are apparently on talking terms and have started exchanging texts.

A source told the New York Post that the 'Kiss Kiss' hit maker started texting the brunette beauty on her birthday, February 20, and the two have been sending each other a flurry of texts ever since.

The insider said that the 'Only Girl in the World' singer didn't write back right away, but later she started getting sentimental and texted back.

Since then, the two haven't stopped texting each other and friends are freaked out that she's going to start dating him again, the source added.
