One part of the Dorungli Bridge, built near Poonch River on the Dorungli Nala that was washed away by flash floods, has been made operational.

The bridge, which is the only link from Poonch to Rajouri was restored by army engineers, troops from the Poonch Brigade and Border Roads Organisation personnel.

The army has also started reconstruction work with the weather clearing up a bit.

After the breakdown of the Shere-Kashmir Bridge, residents of Poonch were completely cut off from the rest of the Jammu region.
