Robert De Niro to be recognised at Carousel of Hope Ball

Legendary actor Robert De Niro will be honoured at the Carousel of Hope Ball's 40th anniversary gala.

'The Intern' star will receive the Brass Ring Award for his philanthropy, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Hosted by Barbara Davis, the Carousel of Hope Ball began in Denver in 1978.

The previous recipients for the honour, which symbolises finding the cure for childhood diabetes, include Hillary Clinton, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Halle Berry.
