Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly accused his players of not playing for him, indicating a major dressing room crisis at Anfield.
Rodgers conceded that his team would struggle to make a top-four finish at the end of the season, thus virtually ending their hopes of Champions League qualification following a 4-1 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday night. According to reports, the allegations have left some senior players fuming, which eventually led them to speak angrily against Rodgers.
Rodgers said that Liverpool is a great club, but players want to play at the top level of the game, adding that it makes it difficult if one is not in the Champions League, the Mirror reported. iverpool will next square off against Blackburn in the FA Cup quarterfinal replay on Wednesday and would be going on to the field with a depleted squad as Martin Skrtel, Steven Gerrard and Emre Can are suspended and Daniel Sturridge is struggling for fitness.
