Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has accepted that his future is in doubt after the team's humiliating defeat in Steven Gerrard's final match in the Premier League.

The Reds bid goodbye to captain Gerrard with a 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Stokes City, thus finishing sixth in the league.

Rodgers, who has won two of his last nine games, said that he would leave if the owners wanted him to go, the BBC has reported.

He also said that everyone who was connected with the club was very embarrassed with the defeat.

He, however, insisted he still had a lot to offer to the club despite the fact that the last two years had been very difficult.

Liverpool must now go through two qualifying rounds if they are to compete in the group stage of next season's Europa League.
