Australia Opening batsman Chris Rogers has admitted that he was deeply affected in Brisbane after being struck on the back of the head while fielding at short leg during the second Test against India at the Gabba.

Rodgers said that a lot of things go through one's mind especially after everything that had happened recently, adding that he was hit two inches from where Phillip Hughes got hit, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Recalling the incident, he said that he was a little bit upset at the time and hadn't really wanted to speak to anyone.

Recently, the swashbuckling all-rounder Shane Watson was struck by a bouncer delivery on the helmet during a training session for the upcoming Boxing Day Test against India.

Commenting on fielding at short leg, Rodgers said that he wouldn't prefer to field in that position if he doesn't have to, the report added.
