Portuguese and Real Madrid football star Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed happiness over reports that Manchester United fans paid for a plane to fly over El Madrigal with a banner urging the winger to return to the Old Trafford outfit.
A United fan group arranged for the plane to carry the message, which read 'Come home Ronaldo, United Reel', during Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Villarreal last Saturday.
Despite being in the middle of the La Liga game, Ronaldo was captured taking a glance at the banner, reports Metro News.
Ronaldo said he was flattered that supporters of his former club had paid for the stunt to be carried out.
Ronaldo - who made his name with The Red Devils before moving to Real in an 80million pounds deal in 2009 - will return to Old Trafford next month after Portugal were confirmed to play World Cup runners-up Argentina in an international friendly.
