Real Madrid star forward Cristiano Ronaldo reached the 300-goal milestone as he helped his side to claim a convincing 2-0 win over Rayo Vallecano in their La Liga tie.
Ninth-placed Vallecano displayed a spirited performance as they were clearly the better side in the goalless first-half.
However, the World player of the year broke the stalemate in the 68th minute before James Rodriguez curled in a second five minutes later, the BBC reported.
The Portuguese striker joined an elite club of greats, which includes Raul (323) and Alfredo Di Stefano (307), as took only 288 games to score his 300th goal for Real.
With the win, Real are second in the La Liga table with 70 points, four points behind leaders Barcelona.
