Wayne Rooney scored a brace to guide England to a comfortable victory in a friendly match against Scotland at Celtic Park.

Manchester United striker has thus come closer to Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time England record of 49 goals. Rooney has now 46 international goals with netting brace against Scotland, who were hoping to hold back Hodgson's team from victory after Andrew Robertson had pulled one back, the BBC reported.

After a disappointing World Cup in Brazil, Roy Hodgson's team has registered their sixth consecutive victory. The team pulled off a victory on their first visit to Glasgow since 1999.
