RPF official attacked in Odisha

A Railway Protection Force (RPF) official has sustained severe injuries after he had been attacked by three miscreants here.

According to media reports, the incident took place late Saturday night, when three masked men, armed with iron rods, attacked Inspector-In-Charge Sushil Pathak near Old Malgodown area when he was returning to his staff quarters after completing his duty.

He was rushed to a hospital after the incident.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear as well as the identity of the attackers, who are on the run.

An investigation has been initiated into the matter.
