RTI activist found dead in Pune, two held

Two persons were arrested after a 32-year-old RTI activist Vinayak Shirsath was found dead here, a police official said on Tuesday.

According to police, the builder cum RTI activist's body was found in decomposed status near Tamini Ghat area of the city.

Shirsath, a resident of Pune, went missing on January 30, following which, his family members filed a complaint.

The body has been sent for a post mortem and a case has been registered under Indian Penal Code sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence).

Further investigation is underway.
