Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) officers detained an American citizen on the charges of spying in Moscow.
"On December 28, a US citizen Paul Whelan was detained by officers from the Russian Federal Security Service during a spy action in Moscow," Sputnik quoted FSB's spokesperson as saying.
The investigation is underway. If found guilty, he would be subjected to the imprisonment up to 20 years. More details are awaited.
