Olympic long jump hero Greg Rutherford has warned his fellow England athletes to stop partying and focus on grabbing gold at the Commonwealth Games going on in Glasgow.
Rutherford blasted his fellow stars for their rowdy antics in the athletes' village. He claimed that their wild behaviour is ruining his preparations as he bids to jump for glory on Wednesday.
Unlike the booze ban during London 2012, Glasgow's Games village is designed so athletes can let their hair down, as the 230 million pound centre includes a bar, jukebox, free condoms and cabinets filled with champagne, the Daily Star reported.
Rutherford, who won gold at London, let rip on Twitter accusing his ignorant teammates of going too far. He tweeted that being in an athletes village is great until the ignorant athletes make more noise than a herd of elephants startled in a china shop.
Rutherford added that it 'bloody' kills him and that he has the noisiest people above him with some serious big feet banging around.
Rutherford further added that he feels some people are determined to annoy every other athlete around them and that strong words would soon be said.
England sprinter Bianca Williams backed Rutherford as she replied to his tweet saying that it is so 'inconsiderate' and adding that the door slamming is ridiculous.
Currently team England is placed second in the Games medal leaderboard. They have suffered some disappointments with cycling golden girl Laura Trott failing in the 10 kilometre scratch despite being red-hot favourite.
Games chief executive Mike Hooper said that team England manage their team and this is a matter for them, adding that it is a great environment and they have received absolutely no complaints whatsoever.
