The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday took at dig at the Samajwadi Party (SP) and said that sacking of two ministers will not satisfy the people of the state, and advised Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav-led government to step down from the power.

Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya said that if the SP government does not resign from the state then the people of region will never accept the party again.

"The Samajwadi government is totally corrupt and in such times sacking of two ministers won't satisfy the people of the state. The SP government should now step down from Uttar Pradesh," said Maurya.

"If this SP government does not resign then the people of the state will oust the government forever and it will never be able to make a comeback in the state," he added.

Akhilesh Yadav yesterday sacked Mining Minister Gayatri Prajapati and Panchayati Raj Minister of State Raj Kishore.

While Prajapati faces a slew of serious corruption charges including kickbacks in mining contracts, land-grabbing and extortion, Kishore was accused of land-grabbing.
