Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal on Tuesday said that she is happy to bag silver medal in the World Badminton Championship, adding that she tried her best to win the match, but things just didn't fall into place.

"Of course, when you reach the finals, you want to win it. Even I wanted to do that. But sometimes, of course, thing don't fall into place. I gave my best. I am so very happy that I could reach finals of two big events this year," Nehwal told the media here.

"It was little disappointing to lose in the finals. But I have to take positive out of it and be very happy as this is the first time I am playing the finals after so many years of attempt. I am really happy that I could come back with the silver medal. So, it's a kind of a proud moment for me," she said.

Saina also said that her recent defeat might give her more confidence to perform well in next year's Olympics.

The 25-year-old also praised her Spain opponent Carolina for being a tough and dominating player, adding that she could definitely beat her in the upcoming events if she works harder.

Earlier, Saina had suffered a 16-21, 19-21 defeat against defending champion Carolina Marin of Spain in Jakarta on Sunday.

However, Saina became the first Indian player to reach finals of the World Championship.
