Satna DM says waterlogging crisis under control

Satna District Magistrate Naresh Pal on Thursday said that the waterlogging situation is under control and there are no more casualties.

Prasing the district commandant and his team Pal said "They rescued around 1300 people and provided them with a safe stay in relief camps."

Responding to a question on seeking military help, he said, "300 to 400 people were stuck in Amiliya village, we were finding it difficult to rescue them and called in the army for help."

He said that the municipal corporation is actively working to take out water from the areas and added that life in the city is back on track.

"We are analysing the areas for any type of help required and the situation is under complete control," he added.

From June 1 to July 6, 23 districts of Madhya Pradesh have recorded above normal rains causing flooding and water logging. In Satna district, flood waters inundated houses in some localities of Amar Patan area and Pahadi Kheda village trapping five farmers in flood waters. Local police and officials eventually rescued them.
