The Supreme Court has fixed Friday (September 27) as the date for hearing a plea made by N. Srinivasan with regard to coutering the
the plea made by the Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB)to restrain Srinivasan from contesting polls for the post of BCCI President on September 29 in Chennai.
Justice A. K. Patnaik told the counsel for the CAB that he would hear the plea on the issue.
According to television reports, the CAB has also demanded that Srinivasan not be admitted to any committee of the Board till the apex court announces its decision.
The Supreme Court had earlier posted the hearing on cross appeals filed by BCCI and CAB against the Bombay High Court's verdict declaring as illegal the probe panel appointed by the Board to look into spot fixing scandal for October.
It had on August 30 heard the petition filed by Aditya Verma, Secretary, CAB, challenging the High Court's order refusing to appoint a fresh committee to probe the scam.
The court had also issued notices to the BCCI, Srinivasan, his company India Cements which owns IPL team Chennai Super Kings, and the Rajasthan Royals on the plea.
