The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav, who has been accused of raping a minor.
The RJD legislator had earlier on November 9 surrendered before a court in Bihar Sharif following the apex court's orders.
The top court had on November 8 cancelled the RJD MLA's bail granted by the Patna High Court vide an order dated September 30.
Earlier in April this year, Yadav was named as one of the main accused in the chargesheet filed by the Nalanda Police on charges of allegedly raping a minor girl at his residence on February 6.
After evading arrest for a month, the RJD MLA had surrendered before a local court in Bihar in March following confiscation of some of his properties at various places by the police.
