The Supreme Court will hear the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government's plea against the Delhi High Court's order, which gave primacy to the Lieutenant Governor in administration of the National Capital Territory (NCT), on September 9.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government had on September 2 withdrew its original suit filed in the apex court since the Special Leave Petitions (SLP) challenging the High Court judgement on the Lieutenant Governor's powers had been filed earlier.
Last month, the Supreme Court had adjourned the AAP's original suit filed on June 29 wanting administrative control of Delhi.
The Delhi Government had informed the apex court that it would file an SLP against the High Court order within a week.
The apex court will hear AAP government's original suit and SLP against the High Court's judgment on interpretation of Article 239 AA of the Constitution.
The AAP-led government had suffered a blow last month as the High Court declared that the Lt Governor has administrative control of Delhi.
In a series of tweets, Kejriwal then said, "Why centre not clearing names suggested by SC collegium? Does centre want BJP lawyers to be appointed as HC judges?. Shocking how centre interfering in judiciary and stalling it."
He also re-tweeted many articles and comments on the Supreme Court's admonishment to the Centre.
