The Supreme Court will on Monday hear the plea filed by Lt. Col. Anil Kabotra, in connection with the judges' appointment cases.

The petition concerns the delay in judicial appointments.

The apex court has time and again pulled up the Centre in this case.

As of now, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has submitted that out of 77 files sent to the government, 34 were cleared and remaining have been sent back to the Supreme Court Collegium for re-consideration.

The top court subsequently informed Rohatgi that the 43 names that it had selected for elevation in the judicial hierarchy stands.
