MIT researchers have reportedly developed a lubricant that would help people squeeze out the last drop of ketchup from its bottle or take out the last bit of shampoo without keeping the bottle upside down for hours.

The lubricant, dubbed LiquiGlide, was initially developed at MIT and focused on ketchup.

According to Cnet, researcher Dave Smith has now turned LiquiGlide into a company and has perfected his lubricant to such a degree that he can make it work for anything liquid that gets put in a bottle.

LiquiGlide's CEO, Carsten Boers explained that the texture of the lubricant is not dissimilar to a sponge and it is also odorless and tasteless.

The LiquidGlide lubricant coating would require manipulation based on the substance inside the container and the substance from which the container is made.

The ingredients used to make the lubricant are reportedly FDA approved, and thus, it could have limitless potential uses in consumer and industrial sector.
