The Church of Scientology has called Leah Remini "self-absorbed" in its response to her recent comments that she left because of her 9-year-old daughter Sofia.
A representative for the Church has said that due to the 43-year-old American actress's "insatiable craving for attention", she is "exploiting her former faith as a publicity stunt by rewriting her history with it" without acknowledging that she was participating in a program to remain a Scientologist by her own choice, Us Magazine reported.
The representative added that Remini was on the verge of being expelled for her ethical lapses.
'The King of Queens' star had recently revealed during an interview with Buzzfeed, that she left the Church as her daughter was reaching the age where her "acclimation" would have to start, and she didn't like the message that was being sent to her.
