Scotland football team boss Gordon Strachan has reportedly been forced to change his team to play against England, after his leading players begged not to be rested.

The Scotland boss had intended to leave out a clutch of the players who appeared in the vital Euro qualifying victory over Ireland on Friday night. But they are so desperate to beat Roy Hodgson's side that they have pleaded with him to be allowed to play at Celtic Park.

Strachan said that he had an idea of the team he was going to play a couple of days ago but the players that played the other night keep banging on that they are fit enough to play again, The Mirror reported.

He added that his players are dropping hints everywhere he goes. He said that they are saying two games in the space of a few days is no problem.

Strachan said that a wee bit of that is because it's this fixture, adding that they are only human. He added that if someone said to them they are playing some team that's 70-odd in the rankings, they wouldn't be as excited around this table, all of them.

The boss said that they Scotland only wants real, competitive games. He added that this is a competitive game for different reasons, even if there are no points available.
