Scott Eastwood has landed his first lead role in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' book 'The Longest Ride'.

The 2013 published novel revolves around the story of a 91-year-old widower who reflects on his life with his deceased wife as he is trapped in a car crash, while a young couple falls in love a few miles away, Deadline.com reported.

The George Tillman Jr.-helmed film will see the 28-year-old actor play the character of Luke Collins, the young man in one of the two couples that the film will focus on.
