World No.1 Serena Williams has cruised into the last 16 of the Madrid Masters while Danish ace Caroline Wozniacki failed to make it into the third round on Wednesday.
According to Sport24, the 17-time Grand Slam champion thrashed Chinese world No.42 Peng Shuai 6-2, 6-3 to set up a third round meeting with Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro or fellow American Alison Riske.
Meanwhile, Wozniacki was defeated Italian Roberta Vinci 6-3, 6-3 on her way to the third round of the tournament, the report added.
