2001 Wimbledon Champion Goran Ivanisevic has tipped Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams as favourites for the US Open tournament that starts in New York on Monday.
According to The Guardian, Ivanisevic said that in the women's draw, chances for Serena's success were better after Russian star Maria Sharapova pulled out quoting a shoulder injury recently.
The former player also said that Andy Murray was not in the best form after dismal performances in back-to-back tournaments in Montreal and Cincinnati and this gave World No.1 Novak Djokovic, a fair chance to win.
Ivanisevic was known for his serve and volley style of play and surprised everyone by winning the Wimbledon title in 2011 being ranked World No.125.
