After making a sexist and misogynistic remark on International Women's Day that didn't go too well with the public, Ram Gopal Varma has apologised to "those who genuinely got offended."

The 'Satya' director took to his Twitter handle to say, "Was just expressing my feelings but I apologise to all who were offended due to my unintended insensitive tweets in context of women's day."

"My apology is only to those who genuinely got offended and not to those who ranted for publicity nd threatened to take law into their hands," he added.

Earlier, replying to his controversial tweet on actress Sunny Leone, the 54-year-old director said that the flak arose from "ultimate hypocrisy."

Famous for his nasty tweets, the filmmaker, on the occasion of International Women's Day, expressed his opinion and stated he wishes it to be celebrated as a Men's Day.

The 'Sarkar 3' director also said that every woman should know how to keep men happy just like Sunny Leone. This tweet, as expected, did not go down well with the Twitterati who suggested that he must say this to his mother and daughters as well.
