Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has said that he believes his team should not play any cricket at home for two years to help reduce expectations from fans in the country.

Hasan, who is the joint leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh in this World Twenty20, top-scored with 34 before the side was all out for 108 in his team's final match of the first round.

According to The Nation, Hasan said that the pressure from fans, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the media had created an environment where the players stopped thinking about the team and focused on looking after themselves, adding that players get puzzled under these pressures and start losing belief in themselves.

Hasan also said that when a player starts thinking that playing poorly will drop him, he concentrates only on his game and stops thinking about his team, which he added, spreads to the rest of the team and affect its functions.

Therefore, Hasan said that it would be best to play outside the country for two years as then the expectations of the home fans will go down, and he also called for the betterment of domestic cricket along with a world-class coaching staff.
