West Indies off-spinner Shane Shillingford has reportedly been allowed to resume bowling in international cricket after he was cleared of a suspected illegal bowling action.

Shillingford was reported to the ICC in November after his arm was found to extend more than the permitted 15 degrees for his off-breaks and doosras, and he was suspended from bowling in December.

According to the BBC, the Dominican's off-breaks and arm balls were deemed legal after re-testing but his doosra remains banned, and he is now free to resume playing for West Indies, although he will continue to be scrutinised by match officials.

The report mentioned that Shillingford, who was reported along with teammate Marlon Samuels during India legend Sachin Tendulkar's farewell Test in Mumbai, returned to first-class cricket earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the report mentioned that all-rounder Samuels, currently with the West Indies squad at the World Twenty20, was permitted to continue bowling, but specifically banned from bowling his quicker deliveries.
