Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday visited the ailing wife of former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Kulsoom Nawaz, at a London hospital.
Begum Kulsoom was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Harley Street Clinic in London after she suffered a cardiac arrest late on Thursday, Geo TV reported.
She has been kept on life support since then but is now said to be stable.
"Begum Kulsoom's vitals are stable but she is still on life support and sedated," Hasan, her son, was quoted by Geo News, as saying.
Shehbaz, while addressing the media later, noted that doctors had been trying their best adding that Begum Kulsoom was provided with the best treatment.
He said his sister-in-law was in ICU and urged the masses to pray for her recovery.
Earlier on Thursday, Nawaz Sharif and his daughter left for London to visit Kulsoom, who has been undergoing treatment for throat cancer.
In 2017, she underwent a surgery to remove diseased lymph nodes after she was diagnosed with throat cancer. Following that, she has become weaker following multiple treatments and therapies.
