Shekhar Kapur is set to make his TV directorial debut with Lifetime's sequel series to classic horror film 'The Omen,' titled 'Damien'
The 68-year-old Indian film director, who directed Cate Blanchett starrer 'Elizabeth,' would helm, as well as executive produce the first episode of the Fox TV Studios project, which stars Bradley James in the title role, Deadline.com reported.
The sequel, which would consist of six-episodes, follows the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 film who has grown up, seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. He has to face his true destiny of being the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages.
The series was penned and executive produced by Glen Mazzara via his 44 Strong Productions, while Ross Fineman, who developed the project alongside Mazzara, executive produces through his Fineman Entertainment, and Pancho Mansfield serves as executive producer.
'Damien' is anticipated to air in 2015.
