Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Mohammad has said that Misbah-ul-Haq's men need to display a much-improved performance against co-hosts and title favourites Australia, if they are to beat them in their World Cup quarterfinal tie on Friday in Adelaide.
Congratulating Pakistan after their seven-wicket win over Ireland on Sunday, Shoaib opined that they would need to put up a better showing against Australia, adding that Pakistan have their confidence high and could certainly upstage Australia on their day, the Express Tribune reported.
Shoaib further said that Pakistan had to win against the lower sides and the only heartening win came against the Proteas, admitting that basically they had beaten just a single strong side.
Pakistan revived their World Cup campaign after registering four successive win in the ongoing tournament, including one against tournament favourites South Africa, despite losing their first two matches against India and the West Indies.
