A gunman opened fire at a kosher supermarket in Paris on Friday, killing two people, and taking five others as hostage.

According to The Dawn, the gunman is suspected to be same man who killed a policewoman in southern Paris on Thursday.

The police have cordoned off the area and a helicopter is reportedly flying overhead at the scene of the crime. The Dawn states that the police have also named two suspects in connection with the siege: Amedy Coulibaly and Hayat Boumeddiene.

Coulibaly had earlier been convicted for attempting break convicted terrorist Djamel Beghal out of prison.
