Shuttler Sindhu battles into Malaysia Masters final

Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu remained on course for her fifth Grand Prix Gold event as she advanced to the women's singles final of the Malaysia Masters after battling past top seed Ji Hyun Sung in three games on Saturday.

Sindhu, the two-time bronze medallist at World Championship, claimed a 21-19, 12-21, 21-10 win over the South Korean opponent in a semifinal contest that lasted one hour and nine minutes.

Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth suffered a straight game loss to local boy Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin in the men's singles semifinal contest.
